The purpose of Friends of Methven Primary School (FoMPS) is to provide pastoral care to families, organise social events for parents and/or families and co-ordinate fundraising activities.
For the rest of 2022, we are focusing on bringing the social side back into the MPS community, both for the kids and the adults. We also have a strong pastoral commitment, welcoming new families, and helping those families in need of some extra support.
What are the social events planned?
With Covid having put a stop to all the great ideas and plans over the last few years, we are now focusing on bringing fun and social events back for the kids and for the adults. Whilst remaining aware of the potential for Covid to affect our planning, we must press on. For the kids we are planning a disco, end of term raffles, colouring competitions, sausage sizzle lunches, and a few more surprises. For the adults we are thinking get-togethers in the evenings, cinema nights, golf games, picnics, and park play dates.
We want to make it easy for you to get to know the other families at the school, so are looking to appoint Class Parent Reps for every class. This is something that we have seen successfully implemented in other schools.
How do I join?
You are automatically part of FoMPS when you have a child at MPS, there is no official joining process. There is an official committee and you are welcome to come along to any advertised meetings, plus we obviously invite you to get involved with any of the social events.
How do I find out more about what is going on?
The easiest way to find out about everything we are planning, and when meetings and events are scheduled for, is to join our Facebook page. Search Friends Of Methven Primary School www.facebook.com/FriendsofMethvenPrimary
You can also email us and ask to be put on our mailing list, and are welcome to contact us at any point through
